ASUU Commences Indefinite Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, on Monday, March 23rd, 2020 declared an indefinite strike over the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System and the non-implementation of the 2009 agreement.

The union’s National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, announced the strike at a press briefing in its National Secretariat, Abuja.

He noted that the government failed to address the issues raised.

ASUU had on Monday, March 9, 2020, declared a two-week warning strike, The PUNCH reports.

Cultists invade station to free member, police arrest seven Suspected members of the Vikings confraternity have allegedly invaded the office of the Operation Safe Delta, a formation of the Delta State Police Command at Issele-Asagba, the state capital. Southern City News gathered that the cult members stormed the police formation over the arrest of a member, who they allegedly attempted to escape from police detention. Sources told our correspondent that the cultists were overpowered by policemen during the invasion on Monday night. “The suspects stormed the OSD command office in four cars with over 15 members. But the police overpowered them and seven members of the cult were arrested during the incident,” the source said.
